Happy Thursday guys! Hope everyone is doing well and not stressing out like me over here. So… husband and I are house hunting and lord almighty it’s frustrating. Fun for the first couple of weeks until you don’t find anything you like and when you finally do, you’re stuck in a multiple offer situation! Anyway, let’s see what happens, I’m a strong believer in “God’s plan” so whatever the outcome is, I’m gonna try my best not to crib about it.
To take my mind off of houses and offers and negotiations and everything that comes with the package, I’m bringing to you these adorable little glam-ed up mini planters. I think this is the most fun project I’ve made so far – right up there with the mod podge bowls.
They’re tiny, have fun gold studs on them, and hold pretty succulents. What’s not to like!
The best part is you only need three things to make them – acrylic paint, gold studs and glue. Make a bunch of them and give them out as favors or presents to friends and ask for hot baked goods in return (if you’re best friends with super cook Marzia like I am :D)
Okay let’s get down to business.
Things Needed:
- Mini terracotta planters (I got mine at Michaels)
- Acrylic paint of your choice (I used white and gold)
- Gold studs (ordered mine from Amazon, make sure they’re flat backed)
- Glue (I used E45)
How To:
Step 1:
Paint your planters white all over, I wanted to do a rough coat to let some brushstrokes show through. Use gold paint (or any other accent color) to create a unique pattern. Let dry.
Step 2:
Dab on some E45 on the back of the gold studs and stick onto the planters however you like. I did three different variations of design and you can do it the same way or get creative and make your own pattern! Let dry again.
Step 3:
Fill the planters up with soil and add mini succulents. Enjoy!
P.S. Don’t forget to water these babies. Trust me, even succulents die. (if you’re me that is)
Until next time, folks!
